Curriculum & Civic Liberty 

LICC welcomes visitors from several nations, including Bahrain, Egypt, Irac, Lebanon, Saudia Arabia, Syria, and the West Bank to complete a program on Civic freedoms. THis group will be hosted by Ms. Roberta Hershberg, who will accompany them to Berea, KY as well as to many schools in Louisville.

Young Muslim Leaders 

LICC welcomes visitors from Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Serbia, and Iran. A program on English as a second Language and Community Integration will be prepared for this group.

Academic WorldQuest 

  Location: Bellarmine University
  Time: 10:00AM

LICC and the Louisville World Affairs Council will host the 2nd annual Louisville Academic WorldQuest competition, sponsored in part by Louisville Metro Government, Bellarmine University, and the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. Winners of this competition will compete in April in the national World Affairs Councils of America program, sponsored by the New York Times and the US Commission of the European Union. Some of the competing schools will be Trinity High School, St. X High School, Holy Cross High School, Assumption High School, Sacred Heart Academy and DuPont Manual High School from Louisville, KY; Apollo High School from Owensboro, KY; Lexington Catholic High School from Lexington, KY; and Clarksville High School from Clarksville, IN. Each team consists of 4 students, an alternate, and a coach. Dawne Gee, WAVE 3 News, will moderate the event. The winning team will travel to Washington D.C. to compete against 50 winning teams from all over the United States.
