Established in 1984, Louisville International Cultural Center became a member of the National Council for International Visitors (NCIV), a network of 102 councils in 42 states, which implements the State Department's International Visitor Program by providing professional itineraries and hospitality for international visitors.
Since 1990 the number of visitors served annually by LICC has grown to over 300, representing more than 50 countries each year, and individual and corporate memberships have rapidly increased.
Over the past five years LICC has received numerous grants, the largest of which is the Community Connections Project of the State Department, which has allowed LICC to place entrepreneurs and other professionals in over 300 internships and a commensurate number of home stays in our metropolitan area. Partnerships forged with Spalding University, and with many public and private agencies, have enhanced LICC's ability to offer a broad complement of training services to professionals from all parts of the world.
